Overview

Dan Finnegan is an associate in Kriss & Feuerstein’s Commercial Real Estate Lending Group and Commercial Real Estate Transaction Group. Between both practice groups, Dan focuses on an array of commercial real estate matters, with a focus on bridge, construction, and mezzanine loans.

Dan received his B.A. from Fordham University and his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School, where he was a Dennis J. Block Judicial Fellow and a member of the Phi Delta Phi Legal Honor Society. He previously served as a judicial intern in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.

Representative Matters

  • Represented private equity fund in the origination of a $102MM construction mortgage loan relating to the development of a 276-unit single-family development in Arizona.
  • Represented private equity fund in the origination of a $34MM mortgage loan relating to the purchase and rehabilitation of a historic oceanfront hotel in New Jersey.
  • Represented noteholders in a $12MM senior loan and $2MM junior loan sale, and the senior and junior lenders providing loan-on-loan financing for such acquisition.
  • Represented private equity fund in the origination of a $35MM construction mortgage loan relating to the refinancing and construction completion of a retail center in Connecticut.
  • Represented a real estate investment firm in leasing transactions for offices, shopping centers, restaurants and other retail uses throughout South Florida.
  • Represented a private equity fund with the workout and sale of a 23-property portfolio in New York.
    Represented a private equity fund in the origination of a $35MM construction mortgage loan relating to the refinancing and construction completion of a retail center in Connecticut.

Academic Achievements

  • While in law school, Dan was an endowed scholar and received the Elihu Berman Memorial Scholarship for showing exceptional promise in the area of real estate law, and completed the Real Estate Law certificate program.
  • Managing Editor of the Brooklyn Journal of Corporate, Financial and Commercial Law, and was a member of the Jessup International Moot Court Competition Team.
